Various sounds of all different kinds of Bug Pokemon could be heard throughout Petalburg forest, which gave off mysterious vibes in the night.. With arms crossed Lux relaxes against the back of a tree, eyes shut peacefully. While he may appear relaxed, he’s actually on high alert for all kinds of sounds. Currently, their mission was to protect the Ledian and Ledyba that are to soar through the night sky.[break][break]
So far, thankfully, it’s been a pretty quiet night. However, Lux knew better than to let his guard down. Predators lurk around every corner.[break][break]
Still, it couldn’t hurt to kill a little time, right?[break][break]
He shifts his attention to Emmett (his partner for the mission) and offers a warm smile.[break][break]

Though they had just met, Lux was under the impression that his partner was a person of few words, and what an impact that sentence had left. Not long after Lux goes dead silent, stains of red creeping upon his dark complexion.[break][break]
The Meowstic snuggled by his feet has fallen asleep, snoring loudly in the night, and it’s just about the only thing keeping him grounded and sane in the heat of the moment. [break][break]
“You.. um, m-might want to rephrase your wording there.” He coughs weakly into his hand. Ah, so he’s one of those people. “But I should be fine. I have Sirius here with me, after all.”[break][break]
Wearing a smile he gently nudges the little one with his foot. Sirius falls over like a doll off the shelf, still slumbering away in a deep sleep. Damn him.[break][break]
Lux shrugs, frustratedly pinches at his nose. “He’ll.. wake up when it gets serious.” And hopefully, with wishful thinking in mind, it wouldn’t come to that.[break][break]

There really isn't much thing for him to linger on rephrasing his words when he's more interested in pulling out a thermos flask from his pouch, pouring out a cup of steaming hot coffee before offering it to Lux.

When Lux looks back over and sees the thermos, well, he feels like the biggest clown in the circus for jumping to such bold conclusions. Of course there’s still a high possibility that Emmett is outright messing with him, one he can’t discount quite yet. The heat lingers on his cheeks as he reaches to accept the offering of coffee. Some caffeine couldn’t hurt. Though, he already felt wide awake now due to his partner’s teasing.[break][break]
“Thank you,” Lux mumbles, letting the aroma of the coffee calm his nerves, also allowing for the hot brew to cool a little. “I drink both. Though the Galarian in me is partial to tea.”[break][break]
The Meowstic’s comically large snot bubble pops at the mention of beverages, now wide awake and alert. Lux rolls his eyes as Sirius climbs effortlessly up his shoulder, curious as to what his trainer has.“Yes, he’s very child-like. Claims he can stay up all night, but passes out before the clock hits midnight.”[break][break]
Although they’re basically the same in that regard.[break][break]
He takes a sip of the coffee. It.. was nice. He smiles, little less on edge this time. “This is good. My thanks to your nana.”[break][break]

"You're welcome. But about liking tea... I guess I'm a little Galarian then." Laughing, Emmett moves to pour himself a cup of his own, taking a sip and rolling his shoulders back. On the other hand, Na'au chirps at the now awoken Meowstic and nervously ducks behind her trainer, even though his small figure barely covers half of her own.

"You see this one here? She still keeps her nervous habits from when she was just an Eevee."

Another long drink of his own cup allows him to finish it up, his attention slowly straying from the conversation as the forest glows with the luminescence of Ledybas and Ledians. When he closes his eyes, he hears the faint humming of wings upon a passing breeze. And with a little more time, he begins to hear the ruffling of feathers and clacking talons.

"Cmon Na'au. Now's not the time to chicken out."

At his command, the Sylveon whimpers a little but is quick to act, weaving together several Light Screens as she calls for nearby Ledians to come closer or hide.
